The Philippine International Hot Air Balloon Fiesta, traditionally held in Pampanga, will fly high over the skies of South of Manila this 2020.
The organizers of the longest-running sports aviation event in Asia hinted on its social media on January 3 about its new venue in the new year with dates marked for March 6-8, 2020.
The balloon festival is returning to the Philippine skies after a one-year hiatus. The 22nd Philippine International Hot Air Balloon Fiesta was held in February 2018 at Clark, Angeles, Pampanga.
The 2020 edition of the balloon fest will be the 23rd Philippine International Hot Air Balloon Fiesta.
The Hot Air Balloon Fiesta features giant flying balloons from sunrise to sundown during 3 full days.
Some 100,000 visitors are drawn to the open field of the event which features the Hot Air Balloon, Tandem paraglide, Helicopter ride, fireworks at night, and a market.
As a gathering of both spectators and aviation professionals from around the world, the Hot Air Balloon Fiesta also offers Aviation Seminars where the best pilots share their experiences and best safety practices to aspiring and young pilots.
The organizers started the annual event in 1991 after the Mt. Pinatubo eruption and it has since been acknowledged as a major aviation event not only in the Philippines but also in Asia.
International pilots and tourists are shown Filipino hospitality and the fiesta atmosphere, making the event a showcase of Philippine tourism.
